Real estate rock czar, philanthro-capitalist, and ultra-marathoner Frank McKinney spent Tuesday with Lancaster's homeless population in an effort to help them overcome this ultimate adversity.

Frank, who was once homeless himself before finding self-made success, spoke at both DIVE Inc. Shelter and Lancaster Bible College, sharing his own, inspiring story of how he very recently overcame the near-impossible adversity of a terminal illness - Leukemia - an experience he details in his latest book, 'Adversitology: Overcoming Adversity When You're Hanging on By a Thread.'

As a successful entrepreneur who built his life from nothing, Frank is no stranger to adversity, and in Adversitology he outlines his mental approach for overcoming this illness, while his body fought to overcome it physically. Franks's theory for overcoming adversity is applicable to any adversity one might experience.

For him, it was a physical illness, but the same solution can be applied to other adversities; from addiction to financial challenges, and everything in between.

While visiting Lancaster, Frank met with many local homeless individuals, many of home were among the "working unhoused" populations - maintaining minimum-wage jobs or struggling to find work as they continued to find themselves priced out of the unaffordable housing market. Frank's message of hope to these individuals was supplemented by individual donations and gift cards, as well as donations to the organizations that he visited during his time in Lancaster.

Adversitology retails at $24.95 and is currently available on Amazon and Adversitology.com. 100% of proceeds from Adversitology go towards the Caring House Project, which Frank founded in 2003 and through which he has built 30 self-sustaining villages in Haiti. The sale of each book provides roughly 100 meals for the children living in a Haiti village Frank's Caring House Project has built.
